About Music

Posted on: January 9, 2009

The Holidays are over, and so is my obsession with the Strauss waltzes. I still listen to them, but not exclusively. I’ve added other classical music to my play list, and I’ve also included what I call pseudo-classical, meaning soundtracks. I am addicted to Pride and Prejudice soundtrack. I am addicted to the movie too, but that is a post for another time. So while the wonderful classical music is playing, I am already thinking about what I will be listening to when spring comes. For one, Diana Krall has a new album coming out at the end of March called Quiet Nights, and I am looking forward to it. I am also curious about young singer called Solange. I heard her perform for New Year’s on TV, and I really liked her. Wow, I just amazoned her and it is Beyoncee’s baby sister. I think she holds promise, so I will definitely check out her new album So-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams . I will also check out the latest John Legend album as well as Estelle’s latest album. But not yet, I can’t listen to them just yet because the season has to be right. Winter belongs to classical music, to the old masters of the past. The spring is all about new and fresh, and so the music must be such as well.

Indian Cooking Update:
Tonight was a borderline disaster. I chose to experiment with one recipe which called for chicken; instead I used tofu and that was a big mistake. For another dish I doubled the dose, purposely, and it turned out barely all right. So I will not name the recipes until I cook them correctly. I will take a break tonight from Indian cooking. Maybe I will take a break from cooking all together tonight.
